of United States helicopter skiing, SVHSG
holds the country’s longest standing
operations permit and brings to our quests

Located in Sun Valley, Idaho, SVHSG has
over 750-square-miles of terrain in three
mountain ranges. This prime location gives
our guests access to the services and ski
area of the Sun Valley Resort as well as
amenities in the neighboring town of Ketchum,

Founded in 1985,
Sawtooth Mountain Guides is a full-service,
year-round mountain guide service, headquartered
in Stanley, Idaho at the foot of the Sawtooth
Range. During the summer months, Sawtooth
Mountain Guides specializes in a broad
range of mountain activities including
mountaineering and rock climbing, custom
trekking, and high lakes fly-fishing. As
the area's mountaineering permitee of the
Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Sawtooth
Mountain Guides provides the Sun Valley
area with a Climbing School providing instructional
formats for Half-Day, Full-Day, and Multi-Day
activities. Guided programs are also offered
at the desert City of Rocks and on Mt.
Borah, Idaho's highest Peak.
In winter, Sawtooth Mountain Guides
provides unique backcountry skiing opportunities
through the renowned Sawtooth Hut System.
From our Williams Peak Hut, located in
the northern Sawtooth Wilderness, offerings
include guided backcountry skiing and
telemark instruction, avalanche courses,
powder skiing, and spring ski mountaineering. |

Sun Valley Trekking
has offered unique winter and summer backcountry
adventures since 1982. Recently featured
in Outside Magazine and Travel and Leisure
Magazine, Sun Valley Trekking has five
huts and yurts strategically located in two
Idaho mountain ranges. We specialize in exploring
the vast wilderness north of Sun Valley,
which harbors some of the finest nordic and
backcountry terrain anywhere.
Whether you want to rent one of our yurts or huts for an independent party, or
if you prefer a guided experience, we can accommodate you. We offer custom single
and half-day instructional outings, multi-day hut trips, and exploratory ski
traverses and expeditions in Idaho, Yellowstone National Park, and Alaska. Our
huts and yurts provide the ultimate forum for backcountry adventure, leisure,
and learning. |
