A RESOLUTION TO COMMIT TO SUPPORTING THE POWERING OF BLAINE COUNTY WITH 100% CLEAN ENERGY BY 2045 AND 100% CLEAN ELECTRICITY BY 2035
During a recent meeting with the Climate Action Coalition of the Wood River Valley, Boise Chapter of Sierra Club, and Conservation Voter for Idaho – businesses and organizations interested in learning more about our efforts to get Blaine County and its cities to adopt a 100% CLEAN ENERGY RESOLUTION came together.
Wood River Land Trust, Sun Valley Institute, Nature Conservancy, and Atkinsons’ Market representatives attended the meetings alongside representatives from the local Climate Action Coalition and Idaho Chapter of the Sierra Club and Conservation Voters for Idaho.
We spoke in more detail about the resolution and the process of getting it adopted: In broad strokes, the County Commissioners will be organizing a meeting with us and the mayors so we can present the resolution to them with the goal of convincing them to put us on the City Council agendas. To make sure we make the best case possible in that meeting, we will present to them our petition as well as a list of businesses that support 100% Clean Energy.
We recognize the support from the organizations and businesses in our valley plays an important role in the ultimate success. Your support ranges from signing the PETITION to becoming a full-fledged partner and taking on a role in the planning and organization. Utilizing social media to share the PETITION, speaking at upcoming city council meetings,… are a few more of the important ways you can help this succeed. We are open to any and all ways you feel comfortable and have the bandwidth to help.
