Norway, with a population of 5,400,000 people, has won more Winter Olympic medals (405) and more gold medals (148) than any other country. The USA with 300 million people is in second place with 330 total medals and 113 gold medals. The Norwegians have excelled in all ski events including nordic, alpine and jumping.
