Happy February, Perch friends and family!
Between the Boulder, Presidents’ Day Weekend, sunshine, and new snow, it’s been pretty busy around here… let’s catch up, shall we?
We had four employees ski the BMT this year – Miles and Taylor crushed it, and Griff crushed whiskeyades at the Suns aid station. Courtney’s official review is as follows: “I gained a new appreciation for the sport my kids have endured since age three.”
It’s been great to see the XC community in the shop and hear trail reports and other happenings from everyone! If you haven’t already, we invite you to join our weekly ski meetups on Thursdays – information can be found on our Instagram (@elephantsperch) or our Facebook page.
Alright, without further ado, let’s get into the Mid-Winter T.U.S.K.:
79 pairs of skis for the Boulder – most of them were at least two-layer jobs, so really, more like 158 wax jobs for the BMT. Beers were well earned.

to Perch regular Christian Erickson who sent us a photo of his Perch water bottle on a boat off the coast of Sicily. Looking at this on a day when it was double digits below zero made me seriously jealous. -Jason
to all the hearty souls who Skied The Rails a few weekends back and stopped by our tent to say “hi” and get some hot chocolate. Some with booze, some without.
to Miles for crushing a very difficult BMT, finishing in the upper 90 after starting in the last wave!
to Julie for being a scheduling wizard
to Erin for getting out there during a very dry January
to SVSEF athletes and 2025 FIS Para-Cross Country World Championships Jake Adicoff and Peter Wolter!!
